Based out of Philadelphia, PA, Molly Bluhm received an undergrad in fine arts from Oregon College of Art & Craft, and went on to work as a newborn baby photographer for the company known as Bella Baby Photography. Along with her experience in infant photography, she has been contracted for other jobs including weddings, bridal shoots, and couple photos.
Molly uses photography in a variety of ways, ranging from documentary to landscape scenes; environmental and manmade, as well as people and animal portraits. In her conceptual work, she plays with video and photo manipulation and experimentation. Her artwork expands beyond the realm of photography, with the use of other 2D art forms like mixed media, & illustration, and drawing.
Her drawings are often described as abstract, childlike, and playful. Her work is typically process-oriented, allowing the use of materials to range from ink, gouache, and paint. She also uses found objects or scrap and collected materials such as paper cut-outs, glitter, and stickers. Both her portrait work and drawings have been displayed in several known galleries, including LightBox Photographic Gallery, Hoffman Gallery, and several coffee-shops in town.
